NFPA 54 requires a leak check of new propane gas systems installations or when there is an interruption of service, such as an out of gas situation. In addition to conducting leak check testing, many gas companies provide service to set up new gas appliances and maintenance of existing appliances. This service often requires testing of pressure regulators for flow set point and lockup pressure.
MEC’s K & A products address the code and company requirements with gauge assemblies and kits specifically designed for bobtail drivers who are limited to doing leak check testing to kits for service personnel who not only conduct leak check testing but also check gas pressure regulators.
If your company is now using high pressure test blocks for leak check testing, upgrading to K & A gauge assemblies or kits will be more convenient and save you time and you will not be opening the line to install the test block when using gas regulator pressure taps. The gauge assembly or kit that is the best option for your company is your decision, based on your policies and procedures. These are our recommendations to assist you in your selection.
